McDonald Jacobs is an accounting firm located in downtown Portland looking for a senior staff accountant.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assist in planning and performing audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements for clients in various industries.
- Assist with the preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather financial data, explain financial reports, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with senior team members and managers to ensure that all engagements are completed efficiently and within deadlines. Assist in mentoring and training junior staff accountants as needed.
The successful candidate will have experience, ability and interest in
- Preparing financial statements, audits, reviews, and compilations, with an understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
- Maintaining the ability to review work for accuracy and completeness and possessing a strong skillset in attention to detail.
- Building strong relationships with clients and communicate financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Having familiarity with tax preparation software and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred qualifications
- CPA license or qualified candidate
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Well-organized and with the ability to work efficiently and prioritize appropriately
- Working knowledge and experience with various tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
