As an Assurance Senior Manager, you will manage complex client engagements, supervise staff, and collaborate closely with partners to ensure that assurance services are delivered efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for providing high-level consulting services, maintaining client relationships, and mentoring team members to ensure the continued growth and success of the firm.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage assurance engagements, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to professional standards.
  • Provide strategic advice on audit and assurance services to clients, particularly in the nonprofit sector.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships, positioning McDonald Jacobs as a trusted business advisor.
  • Lead and develop staff by providing mentorship, training, and opportunities for growth.

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the business environment, industry trends, and client needs, providing strategic solutions.
  • Applies deep technical expertise and knowledge of emerging regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance and deliver high-quality services.
  • Specializes in a particular technical field or industry, using this expertise to provide tailored, effective solutions to clients.
  • Leads and influences teams to deliver quality services on time and within budget, managing multiple assignments and projects simultaneously.
  • Develops strong, long-term relationships with clients, building trust and credibility to become a valued business partner and trusted advisor.
  • Effectively manages change and anticipates challenges, proactively developing strategies to overcome barriers and ensure successful project implementation.
  • Collaborates with firm partners to drive business development, identifying new client opportunities and assisting in the preparation of proposals.
  • Mentors staff, managers, and seniors in areas of expertise, fostering professional growth and development through on-the-job training and guidance.
  • Acts as a dynamic and influential presenter, delivering clear and compelling client and internal presentations that drive business success.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • CPA certification
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in assurance or audit services, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong technical expertise in assurance services, financial statement audits, and compliance with industry regulations (particularly nonprofit and government sectors)
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while delivering high-quality results on time and within budget
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply technical knowledge to solve complex client challenges
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other audit-related software
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or related certifications highly preferred
