As a Tax Senior Manager, you will manage complex client engagements, lead teams of professionals, and work closely with firm partners to build long-term client relationships.   • Lead the management and delivery of high-quality tax services to clients, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with business goals

  • Foster long-term client relationships, positioning McDonald Jacobs as a trusted business partner
  • Mentor and develop the skills of staff, managers, and senior team members through hands-on learning and leadership

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the business environment, industry trends, and client needs, providing strategic solutions to help clients achieve their objectives.
  • Applies deep technical expertise and knowledge of emerging regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance and deliver high-quality services tailored to each client.
  • Specializes in a particular technical field or industry, using this expertise to develop and implement effective, customized solutions that address specific client challenges.
  • Leads and influences teams to deliver quality services on time and within budget, managing multiple client engagements and projects simultaneously while ensuring alignment with firm goals.
  • Develops strong, long-term relationships with clients, building trust and credibility through clear communication, industry knowledge, and high-quality service.
  • Effectively manages change and anticipates challenges, proactively developing strategies to address potential issues and ensuring the successful completion of client projects.
  • Collaborates with firm partners to drive business development efforts, identifying new client opportunities and supporting the creation of proposals and new business initiatives.
  • Mentors staff, managers, and seniors in areas of expertise, fostering professional growth through on-the-job learning, guidance, and skill development.
  • Acts as a dynamic and influential presenter, delivering client-facing and internal presentations that are clear, impactful, and aligned with business goals.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • CPA certification
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in tax-related services, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on building and maintaining client relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams while delivering high-quality, client-focused services
  • Deep technical expertise in tax planning, compliance, and strategy
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within budget and deadlines
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with clients and become a trusted advisor, adding value through strategic insights and solutions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other relevant tax-related software
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or related certifications highly preferred
